Description
Where Anatomy comes to Life Through Movement!
Move beyond memorizing muscles and bones and learn to understand anatomy through movement. This evidence-informed Applied Anatomy & Movement Science Training is designed for yoga teachers, fitness professionals, movement educators, and anyone wanting to better understand how the human body moves.
Explore how bones, joints, muscles, fascia, and the nervous system work together as an interconnected system. Through practical movement exploration, you’ll develop a greater understanding of joint actions, muscular function, bio-mechanics, movement patterns, and why individual anatomy influences how every body moves differently.
Most importantly, you’ll learn how to apply anatomy to movement and teaching, helping you make more informed choices around yoga postures, sequencing, cueing, adaptations, and movement for every body.
In this training, you will learn:
- Foundations of Applied Anatomy – understanding the bones, joints, muscles, and connective tissues involved in movement.
- Joint Actions & Movement – explore how the body’s major joints move and function.
- Muscles in Motion – understand how muscles works together to create control, and stabilize movement.
- Planes of Movement – exploring how the body moves through the sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes.
- Functional Movement & Biomechanics – understanding how stability, mobility, strength, load, and coordination influence movement.
- Individual Anatomy & Movement Variability – recognizing why movement and yoga postures can look different from one body to another.
- Applying Anatomy to Yoga – using movement science to inform postures, transitions, sequencing, cueing, and adaptations.
- Teaching Every BODY – applying anatomy to create more inclusive, adaptable, and informed movement experiences.
